A message from our Principal, Mrs. Hennelly...

In today’s edition, I would like to review our after school pick up policy.  Please keep in mind that this policy is for the safety of our students.  Each teacher walks his/her entire class out to the front of the building.  The first students to be dropped off are the walkers at the gym.  Next, the rest of the class walks the bus loop with the teachers dropping off the riders at each bus.  The final drop off is by the flagpole next to the parking lot, where students being picked up meet their adult.  We are asking that ALL students being picked up meet at the flagpole.  Please park in the lot, and walk to the flagpole to get your children.  Several parents have started meeting their children by the gym and taking them out the back way.  I understand that this might be more convenient than walking to the flagpole, but it is much safer for your children when we all follow this policy. Having the designated areas makes it easier for teachers to keep track of each child and ensure that everyone is safely on their way home.  All of us at CFT appreciate your support and your willingness to help with this policy.

Remember that if your child is going home with another student, we require a note from an adult from BOTH families.  Those notes need to be stamped in the office in the morning on the way to class.  Again, this is for the protection and safety of your children.

Attached to this Wildcat Chat, you will find a copy of the district’s new Student Expectations for riding the school bus.  These expectations have been shared with each student during lunch and again in the classroom.  Please go over these expectations with your child and sign and return the form to school.  Each student returning the form with the signatures will earn a “BUS BUCK” and be entered into a drawing for a prize!

This year several community organizations are helping families in need during the holidays.  If your family would like holiday help, please pick up an application in the office and return it by November 15th.

Please share your winter traditions with us so that we can include all of the different CFT cultures at this year’s Celebrate the Season.  Return the letter that was sent home Wednesday by November 9th.

Thank you supporting your children by attending Parent/Teacher conferences.  Parents and Teacher working together for success is such a great message to send to our students. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
