Dear Templeton Families,
Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year. It is always an exciting time as we prepare our facilities, classrooms, office, and program offerings for another new year. My hope is that you, as a family, are able to continue the learning process at home and take the opportunity to read with and to your child often, talk about the stories being read and ask questions about the text that allow your child(ren) to think out loud and share their thoughts. As a parent, you are your child’s greatest influence. When you talk positively about school and show interest in the learning process and in what your child is learning on a daily basis, school becomes top priority.
It is an honor to be able to work with your children every day. The Templeton parent community is supportive and committed to maintaining and strengthening Templeton Elementary as a centerpiece of the community at large. The Templeton staff is one of the most dedicated groups of professionals in which I’ve had an opportunity to work with and the commitment to your children and their academic and social development is second to none.
At Templeton our vision is clearly defined…
- All Templeton staff will dedicate themselves to ensuring that every child will reach his/her potential as a student and embrace the belief that every child can and will learn.
- Individual student growth, within the academic programs provided, and behavioral, social, and emotional development, will be achieved through educational decisions that are based on what is best for students, in conjunction with consistent, organized, well-planned, aligned curriculum.
- All staff will continue to grow professionally each year through varied professional development and personal growth, always with a focus on student achievement, positive relationships, and a commitment to create programs and an environment that values, models and promotes success and a love of learning.
Our ultimate goal at Templeton is to collaborate with students, staff, and parents to provide a safe, nurturing, inclusive environment in which students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
I encourage you to browse the Templeton Website to access information about our learning community and much more. Other communications to look for include The Templeton Timely Tidbits which is a bi-weekly school newsletter sent home electronically or hard copy depending on preference, that will provide information on upcoming programs, activities and events. On the front page of the Templeton website, you can read about Templeton from my perspective as I share additional information in Mr. Robson’s Blog. To continue with the communication theme, you can also follow my tweets on Twitter also found on the front page of our school website. Look for our PSO newsletter that will provide you with relevant news about PSO and the fundraising events and family activities provided. You can access even more Templeton and PSO news by tapping into the PSO Facebook page.
I look forward to working with you and your amazing children this year in teaming together to make our school a “world class” learning community that is safe, collaborative, welcoming, positive and intentional in everything that we do in educating your child. Do not hesitate to call if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Todd Robson
