Welcome to Mrs. Taylor-Weber's 4th Grade Home Page

This is my third year teaching, and my third year in 4th grade. I originally focused my education on primary grades, but have come to love 4th grade. I graduated from Western Oregon University with my teaching license for grades K-4. I have always dreamed of being a teacher, so I have truly felt blessed living out my life long dream. Teaching to me means that every student is given a chance to learn and a stable environment to learn in. I like to teach students not only the state requirements but also how to be responsible and confident people. I try to make learning fun and enjoyable!

Enjoy our website! I hope this is useful for you and your student!

Dear Parents/guardians,

Happy 2010! What a nice fun relaxing break! I hope everyone was able to have some good family time, and in the process hopefully make some fun memories! It was nice to have the short day or so of snow, unlike last year! =)

We are starting our Whale unit finally this month! The Oregon brochures that have been turned in turned out great! We will be doing another report for the whale unit. This time it will be a presentation with the student’s choice of a poster, report board, or powepoint! We will be learning a lot about the habitat and life cycle of whales, along with different types of whales. Again if you have any information at home you would like your student to share that would be great!

This month we will be prepping for the next round of OAKS testing coming in February. Please continue to read with your student and keep them up on their homework.

Reading logs! There are a decreasing number of reading logs coming in every week. It is very important for your student to be doing these and turning them in. I DO grade these, and they count as part of their homework grade.

DIBELS testing is next week, January 13th. Again it is very important that students are reading at least every other night, out loud to themselves or to a grown-up! This will help scores drastically!

                                                Happy New Year!

This month:

January 13th: DIBELS testing!

January 18th: NO SCHOOL/ MLK day

 Birthdays:

January 15th: Annika!
