Academic Letter Criteria

1. 4.0 GPA for the previous 2 quarters.
2. Weighted GPAs may be used for students taking advanced classes (I.B. and A.P. classes only).
3. Students must be taking a full 4 academic class schedule with only one P.E. class and no student assistant  classes, peer counseling, work experience, tutoring, release periods, or study halls.
4. Letters will be issued twice a year for each 2 quarters and are awarded to students who qualify and submit an application.
5. Those who letter for the first time will receive a letter and a "Lamp of Knowledge" emblem.
6. Those students who already have a letter will receive a "Lamp of Knowledge" emblem for their letter.
7. Students who repeat will receive a "slash" emblem to indicate another semester of eligibility.
8. The Academic Letter program will be funded by the principal's project account.
9. National Honor Society will coordinate the recognition program.
