The center would like to extend a warm "thank you" to the local organizations that come together every year to provide food, clothing, and toys to children in need in the Tigard-Tualatin School District through the Help for the Holiday sponsorship program. This program would not be possible without their support.
If your organization or business would like to sponsor a family in the Tigard-Tualatin area through the Help for the Holiday program, please contact the Tigard-Tualatin Family Resource Center. Staff can help match you with coordination efforts at local schools.
Do you want to do something, but don’t feel prepared to sponsor an entire family? You can still help!
Your family resource center accepts donations of gift cards to be distributed to qualifying families during the holidays. Gift cards are a great way to help out, because they empower parents to choose the food, clothing, and gifts they know their children want. Some popular choices are: discount grocery stores, clothing stores, or one-stop-shopping stores where families can buy whatever combination of food, clothing, and toys that is most appropriate for them. Gift cards in multiples of $25 are preferred, but the center accepts them in any amount.
*Please note: If your family is in need of
holiday assistance, please fill out an application form in the main office of your local elementary school. Even if your children are no longer in elementary school, please visit the elementary school nearest you. Applications are no longer available at middle and high schools. Sponsors are requesting early application deadlines this year to allow time to plan their sponsorship. Deadlines vary by school and some are as early as November 4, so turn in your application as soon as possible.
