Message from the Principal
August 2011
Dear Tualatin High families,
On behalf of the Tualatin High School Administrative Staff, I would like to welcome you to the 2011 – 2012 school year. My name is Darin Barnard and I am eager to begin my second year as Principal of Tualatin High School. There's a lot of excitement ahead of us, including new teachers to meet, new books to read, new friends to meet and new skills to master...and I look forward to sharing in those exciting times with you. As a parent myself, I know how fast time goes by. One year your child's in 1st grade and seemingly in the blink of an eye they're in their senior year of high school. I live in Tualatin and look forward to getting to know you and your family better.
We are proud of our staff and students and invite you to be involved at Tualatin High School. Please know that you are always welcome to visit our school at anytime. The goal of our school is to provide each student with a challenging and rigorous curriculum appropriate to his/her academic level. Your children receive the best education when you and our dedicated teachers work as a team. It's a parents enthusiasm, support and involvement that inspires children to do their best; and a teacher's ability to teach what they need to learn. Together we can achieve wonderful things and believe every student can achieve academic success. To this end, every student will be provided with quality instructional experiences that recognize, support and maintain high expectations for all.
As your principal, you can expect that I will reach out to you and ask for your support, ideas, suggestions and involvement. I will encourage you to join our team, whose number one priority is preparing our children for the future. I pledge to do my level best to ensure that each child is challenged, nurtured and provided with a safe and stimulating learning experience. As we work together during the year, I invite you to stay in contact and let me know how you and your child are experiencing school. Through teamwork, open communication and a dedication to continuous improvement, we can continue to make Tualatin High an outstanding school. We hope all of you have had a terrific vacation and we are looking forward to working with you.
