ICHSA Competition

The students of Tualatin High School Choirs’ A Cappella groups would like to invite you to support them as they compete at the ICHSA Northwest Varsity A Cappella Semifinals Competition on Saturday, January 28, at 7:00 pm.  The competition is hosted by Wilsonville High School and will be held at Rolling Hills Community Church (3550 SW Borland Road, Tualatin).

The Varsity Vocals International Championship of A Cappella is the only international tournament that showcases the art of student a cappella singing.  The vocalists will have the opportunity to showcase their talent to an international audience and develop relationships with each other, cultivating the art of a cappella singing and a lifelong love of music.

Singing 2012

Singin’ in the ‘Burbs

Tualatin High School Choir would like to invite area  grade school, middle school, high school, college and adult vocalists to participate in TuHS’s fourth annual vocal competition,  Singin’ in the ‘Burbs on February 10 and 11, 2012 in the Tualatin High School auditorium.   Contestants will perform one or two selections of their own choice Friday evening.  At the end of Friday evening’s auditions, the Semi-Finalists will be announced in each category.  Semi-Finalist will compete Saturday afternoon to find out who will move on to the Finals.  The Final competition will be Saturday evening at 7:00 PM.  Winners of the grade school and middle school categories will receive a plaque.   1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in the High School category will receive monetary prizes.
 
Spectators are welcome for all phases of the competition.   Tickets are available at the door for $5 per person and will admit the spectator to all phases of the competition including the Saturday evening Final competition.   Children under 5 are free.
 
Downlowad complete rules and registration.  Please note the $2 discount per registration if you register prior February 1.  On-site registrations are also welcome. 

 

About Our Choirs

Cadet Choir: Our Freshmen choir that also serves as a beginning for students who are new to music.

Treble Choir: Our Womens Ensemble for any grade level. (Audition required)

Tenor/Bass Choir: Experience the art of singing in a bass choir. No audition necessary.   Sing popular and classical music with a focus on vocal production and music fundamentals.  Students in this ensemble will be expected to perform in all school related concerts.  Concert attire required.

Concert Choir: Our Concert Choir performs at many venues such as The Grotto, League and State competitions, and on tour.

Crimsonnaires:  Our Audition only Chamber Choir which also performs publicly, especially during the Holiday Season.  This group sings literature from many different periods including renaissance, classical, and pop.
