Department Information

Students are required to take English in grades 9, 10, 11 and 12. These courses focus on the development of communication skills and divergent thinking.

Advanced courses are offered at each grade level and are designed for highly motivated students with a passion for reading and above average writing abilities. For all levels of advanced English classes, the prerequisite is consent of the department or completion of an advanced class with a grade of a “B” or higher, and summer reading assignments that are completed by the first day of school.
